This Wednesday, April 4, marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Hotel, Memphis, will host a Day of Remembrance culminating in an international bell ringing. At 7:05 pm, the bells of Christ Church and St. Michael’s will be tolled 39 times—once for each year of Dr. King’s life. This will be an “international moment of solemn reflection acknowledging the loss of one of history’s great peacemakers.”
